Dec 21st, 2022: Children of Light

Another cold spell has hit Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. I was driving to a small town in Manitoba yesterday for work, and it had its own challenges. Traveling on a cold dark night is not my idea of having fun.

How about us while we live through the darkness and chilliness of human suffering? Many people find the night too long because of loneliness. Many others have problems waking up in the morning because they have nothing to look forward to the day ahead. Many have found Christmas unpleasant because of their family struggles.

As Wise Men looking for the star to take them to Jesus, let us allow God to shred His light in our hearts so we might find our way back to Him. We will do that with hope and perseverance while facing doubts, judgments and persecution.

"Even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with you." - Psalm 139: 2

"For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness." - Thessalonians 5: 5
