Dec 20th, 2022: Be Charitable

 

Now is the time of the year when we get more requests from charities to support their work and mandates. People are indeed more generous during the Christmas season.

God has given us the gift of free choice and then another gift to redeem our wrong choice. It is more than just charitable. It is comprehensively compassionate and sacrificial.

It is when we find ourselves once again. We cannot see God if we are not free from our broken selves. We cannot embrace ourselves and others if we are indifferent toward God.

Let us learn to be charitable to one another and ourselves as we discover how to appreciate the reality of Jesus in the world.

"In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.'" - Acts 20: 35
