Dec 10th, 2022: A Giantic Shift

 

Nothing can be more challenging to a body when the temperature changes from -23C at bedtime to +3C at waking up time. Some people experience severe migraine headaches because of such a weather shift.

The shepherds in the Christmas account experienced such a shift in their lives. They were content minding their own sheep when they were awakened and greeted by the heavenly host. The news they received was more than what they could comprehend. They were simple and uneducated folks.

Many of us have changed our worldview because of the truth about Jesus's birth. We learn how to walk away from the worldview of being independent of God to being open to the worldview of God's compassion for us.

(Luke 2:8-20)

There were shepherds taking care of their flocks at night. An angel appeared to them and told them not to be afraid as he brought good news, “This very day in David’s town your savior was born – Christ the Lord!” They would find the baby wrapped in cloth, lying in a manger. Suddenly, many angels appeared, singing praises to God “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom he is pleased!”

The angels left and the shepherds decided to go to Bethlehem. They found Mary and Joseph and saw the baby lying in the manger. The shepherds returned, praising God for all they had heard and seen.
