Nov 12th, 2022: Why Do We Have Faith?

Someone asked me what does it mean to have faith?

He finds it hard to believe and will not take the bait.

It is not about satisfying our intellectual quest for the existence of God.

It is about our choices in the end to believe or not.

What does it mean then to have faith after making such a choice?

We choose God daily and listen to His voice.

As we listen to His voice, we might understand His Word.

Life is full of surprises, and we need help navigating this world.

There will be times we get off the rails.

We will need others to stay close to God so we will not fail.

The fallacy of life is to believe that we are in control.

We soon discover we might dig bigger holes.

Listening to God is a learned discipline.

We discover the depth of solitude while letting go of other ungodly inklings.

Walking away from our former way of living is a lifelong journey.

Every day is the beginning of learning how to have faith and obey.

Hebrews 11: 1

"Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen."

Proverbs 3: 5-6

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."
