Oct 2nd, 2022: Being Transplanted
Someone asked me whether I would have a hair transplant. I was surprised by the question because I have been content with shaving my head. Some people say: "being bold is beautiful." I would not go that far, regardless. It is just a matter of convenience for me.
However, I have thought about being transplanted in other aspects of life.
Being transplanted in the grace of God: the kind of transplantation that brings about hope and joy in life. It moves us from the infertile soil of human slavery to sin to the fertile soil of having peace with God, ourselves, and others.
Being transplanted in the truth of God: when we embrace the truth of who God is and who we are, we open the door for ourselves to be free from our self-created imprisonment. We have a different understanding of seeking reconciliation. It calls for courage and humility to live in truth.
Being transplanted in the service of God: life is a lot more exciting and meaningful when we are able to look beyond ourselves in the art of living. We are no longer defined by our limitations. We will be able to do incredible things because there is no limitation in loving God and others.
Ezekiel 17: 5-8
"He took one of the seedlings of the land and put it in fertile soil. He planted it like a willow by abundant water, and it sprouted and became a low, spreading vine. Its branches turned toward him, but its roots remained under it. So it became a vine and produced branches and put out leafy boughs.
But there was another great eagle with powerful wings and full plumage. The vine now sent out its roots toward him from the plot where it was planted and stretched out its branches to him for water. It had been planted in good soil by abundant water so that it would produce branches, bear fruit and become a splendid vine."
