Nov 1st, 2022: Never Again Will They Hunger

Food banks are crying for help across the country.

Clients have come in great numbers to clean up their pantries.

One-third of people who use food banks are children.

Life is hard, and things are tough to bear daily burdens.

Everything has become so expensive, and many people have adjusted their ways of living.

Someone told me last week that she didn't think she had to worry about food bill spending.

There is a sense of disconnection between our political leaders and people.

The lowest level of the hierarchy of needs has become unstable.

Churches also need to reclaim our callings and responsibilities to care for the poor, the elderly, and the sick.

Maybe we need to own them up so our proclamation of the Gospel might stick.

Let us not be cute by asking: "What Would Jesus Do?".

I prefer to think about what He would not do.

He is about what is eternal.

Why are we so preoccupied with the temporal?

We might want to think about that as we prepare ourselves for Christmas.

The first shall be last, and the last shall be first.

Revelation 7: 16

"Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst."

Isaiah 58: 10

"If you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday."
