Sept 8th, 2022: Superficiality

A superficial culture can come up with many fads.

They can be exciting by they won't last.

One of them during COVID-19 is having a pet.

Now many people have expressed their regrets.

People have dumped their dogs at shelters in recent months.

For some people, it is too much work, costly, and no more fun.

It tells us how we perceive commitments and responsibilities.

Taking sacrifices has become a heresy.

As long as it is exciting and intriguing, count us in.

When our fascination is over, we have no qualms about putting stuff in a passe bin.

Life values only have their short-term stints.

Because of that, our ways of life will find their ways to sink.

We also view human relationships in such a way.

They are simply commodities to advance our day.

We should be ashamed when we use others' sufferings to further our desires in the short term.

We gain power by doing so, but our humanity will be infirm.

All good things in life are God's gifts.

Don't be either too proud or petty, and let us deal with our moral rifts.

"Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,

nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers;

but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law, he meditates day and night." - Psalm 1: 1-2
