Sept 14th, 2022: Curiosity and Needs

A young fellow asked me last week about my thoughts on smoking weed.

I have friends who use cannabis to relax and numb their painful needs.

He was thinking about it out of curiosity.

Many classmates are doing it, and he wonders whether it is time to experience its intensity.

He told me that he had no desire to destroy himself.

Yet, he wonders how it feels to be free from the stressful existence of his self-imposed prison cell.

Maybe some people hope that cannabis will help them to discover a new sense of freedom.

Others might just use it to overcome their own boredom.

I have a drink to taste the flavor.

A glass of wine over dinner might be all that I need to enjoy God's favors.

I don't smoke because it is an expensive habit that might kill me eventually.

It also bothers others who are in my vicinity.

It is not about what we do and don't do.

It is about why we decide to do anything while knowing God helps us to overcome our miserable brew.

My cannabis is the presence of God around and with me.

I don't need substance to have a vision because God helps me to see.

""All things are lawful for me," but not all things are helpful. "All things are lawful for me," but I will not be enslaved by anything." - 1 Corinthians 6: 12
