Aug 9th, 2022: More About Life and Death
My brother proudly told us that he has a picture of our parents laser-edged on a Korean space module that soon circles around the moon. It was launched on Aug 4th, 2022. Somehow he has the idea that our parents would love to see us from the moon's orbit. I wonder what my late mother might say about that.
He is very interested in the spiritual world although he claims he doesn't believe in God. He has the desire to have our parents' spirits live on forever. He lives in tension by believing that science will always have the answers for human struggles and longing for matters are beyond the realm of science.
Death is not easy to accept because we are not meant to die when God created us in our mother's womb. We fight it by doing everything we can to live longer. We have healthier diets, exercise, take vitamins, and more. Yet death will knock on our door and says it is time to stop fighting and go.
I asked my brother whether our human spirit exists before our physical matters. If it is eternal, it should exist before our physical being. That will be a hypothesis to work on while searching for the meaning of life and death. It always leads to a conversation about God and His plan for us.
Deuteronomy 30:15
"See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, and death and adversity"
