Aug 1st, 2022: Our Search for The Meaning of Life

 

The meaning of life has been a philosophical and theological thesis throughout human history.

We don't seem to be able to agree because of what remains to be a mystery.

When we care only about the here and now,

we might have to face the last moments in life with the unknown cloud.

When we are so afraid of its uncertainty,

we fight against the notion of death with all our absurdity.

When we choose to hang on to what we know,

our lack of knowledge can deal us a blow.

When we discover that our faith in medical science has its limitation,

we wonder whether we can move from our life conditions.

When we know without a doubt that our relationships with people are long-lasting,

our hearts are longing, and our minds are seeking.

When we allow ourselves a moment of silence,

we might hear the voice of the lover to overcome our ambivalence.

When we are honest with our broken condition,

facing death is the time to seek reconciliation.

When we are able to come to terms with who we are in the presence of God,

death no longer brings fear, and we don't have to plod.
