July 7th: The Nature of Gossip
Gossip kills all that is good in human relationships.
It invites brokenness and hardship.
Gossip is a wrong way of building oneself up.
It takes away the foundation that will fill our cup.
Gossip betrays trust.
It sends our confidence in one another into a bust.
Gossip is pervasive.
It spreads like wildfires and burns up opportunities for praise.
Gossip brings about blame and then shame.
We end up denying our name.
Gossip certainly brings calamity.
It is the beginning of loneliness and uncertainty.
Proverbs 18: 7-8
"A fool’s mouth is his ruin, and his lips are a snare to his soul. The words of a whisperer are like delicious morsels; they go down into the inner parts of the body."
