July 23rd, 2022: Understanding and Communication

My cousin showed me pictures of 2 service dogs visiting her father in the hospital.

They brought him joy and comfort and are his favorite animals.

Sometimes we need the presence of those we can trust when we experience so much pain.

Dogs bring what we need as we search for rest and try to be sane.

They don't do much except be there.

It is one of the most significant steps in pastoral care.

Their unassuming manner makes us feel at ease.

Nothing is more important to them than to please.

Dogs have their ways of communicating to us what we need.

They might not speak, but their understanding of us is well knitted.

Languages can fail us in our communication attempts.

We make things more complicated than they intend.

God is pleased when we spend time with Him.

We can never have enough time with Him when the world is grim.

"Philippians 4:6-7

"Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
