July 16th, 2022: Thoughts During a Hot Afternoon

It is a smoking hot afternoon.

Trying to find a shady place to keep cool.

Some life events are like this hot weather.

They are intense, and we can't stand the air pressure.

Seeking refuge from the heat is essential to survive.

We look for the shadow of grace when all challenges stride.

Enjoy a cold refreshing glass of water.

We look for the pouring of God's spirit to make us stronger.

Take and rest and enjoy a deep breath.

We trust that God knows better and leave things in His tenets.

Close our eyes and imagine how life begins.

We have been separated from Him ever since.

Our alienation feels like the still and heavy hot air.

We pray that He will deliver us from our despair.

The dark gray sky slowly opens up.

The light of God comes through with the message of hope and fills our cup.
