June 6th, 2022: Images About Dandelions

I am quite incapable of taking care of my yard. Dandelions are one of my main struggles. The idea of eliminating them one by one seems to be horrendous somehow. Why can we just do so by spraying? One of my friends who is quite well versed in gardening told me recently that the best way to remove it is after heavy rain. That statement has an incredible spiritual significance if we consider dandelions are ungodly behaviors that keep springing up in our lives while a heavy rainfall is like the pouring of God's spirit.

Dandelions always reveal their bright yellow color when they are under heat. Somehow it looks subdued after heavy rain. Our ungodly habits might find ways to foster themselves under the heat of life. When the Holy Spirit soaks into the core of our well-being, we have no desire to live within the confinement of these habits. The soil of our life softened, and God can come and remove them.

Dandelions will find ways to multiply themselves. Snapping the top of their growth won't do much. We need to let God deal with the root causes of our life problems. Taking medications and going to therapy might be helpful, but we will need to face the real reasons for our problems.

It is even more challenging when our neighbors neglect their lawns and dandelions are having a hay day on the property. It feels as if we are fighting a losing battle when that happens. We need to be more aware of the company we keep when we try to confront our destructive habits. Many alcoholic folks have told me it is a real challenge to shake off their former drinking buddies.

Titus 3: 5

"He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,"

Hebrews 10: 22

"let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water."
