June 16th, 2022: A Confession

A young pastor confessed his sin in front of the church.

His wife and their newborn were not too far from him while emotion emerged.

The congregation had been excited about his teaching and their presence with them.

His confession caught them by surprise, and their hearts have ached since then.

He was sincere and appeared almost academic as he spoke.

One might wonder how his wife might face the church folks.

They stood up and showed their support for them after he finished.

The congregation hopes and prays that they can move on without any blemish.

His addiction is common among young pastors.

It corrupts the heart and damages the soul as our mind abhors.

We all long for their restoration.

The journey ahead will be full of painful confession and contemplation.

It is no longer about his failure alone.

We need to come to terms with whom we need to dethrone.

We name the ugliness of evil for what it is.

We proclaim the beautiful name of God for who He is and will always be.

We bless this young pastor and his wife,

as they seek to overcome this pothole in their journey of life.

Psalm 51
