June 14th: Simplicity is Powerful
Nothing can taste better than a fresh loaf of bread from the oven.
Some might say even it smells like heaven.
I count myself blessed because my wife bakes.
It is simple, yet it plays a role in our well-being that no one can shake.
It is a miracle that we are able to figure it out.
How marvelous is the process of turning wheat from the field into flour?
Yeast is another story altogether.
It is like a simple faith that makes us much stronger so we can go farther.
Yet we can never take simple things in life for granted.
How often have we heard the outcry when people cannot find bread? They rant.
Asian folks don't feel well when they don't have rice.
For many western folks, not having bread is their demise.
Simple food brings about our balance and stability.
We can say the same about simple faith in the age of atrocity.
We don't look for fancy words and fancy human ideology that don't nourish our human soul.
We depend on what is noble and true while learning to live with the eternal goal.
I am looking forward to the first slice from a freshly baked loaf.
Daily I anticipate the first moment of being alone, being with God, or both.
Luke 22: 19
"And when He had taken some bread and given thanks, He broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me."
