May 31st, 2022: Signs of The Last Days

"But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people." - 2 Timothy 3: 1-5

Lovers of self: Our society will become less compassionate. We will fail to treasure relationships and meaningful human experiences. Sometimes our abusive uses of social media can be seen as lovers of self. Lovers of self will say God is irrelevant in relationships with others.

Lovers of money: People keep asking about the validity of cryptocurrency and how that might impact the conventional monetary system. We fail to acknowledge that our fascination with cryptocurrency might just be another expression of being lovers of money. Lovers of money will say money is more powerful than God.

Proud: Pride disregards others' values. Pride serves only one purpose in life. We have to be at the center of everything. Pride can distort our perspectives of life and cause spiritual blindness. The ultimate casualty of pride is the callousness of our hearts. It is a new expression of death in some ways. Proud people would say God is irrelevant in the big scheme of things.

I will write more tomorrow about the same verses.
