May 28th, 2022: Raging Hate

 

America now has a new sport.

The mass shooting is its sort.

Its targets are kids, students, Blacks, Asians, and more.

Schools have become killing fields that we abhor.

It is easy to blame it on the lack of gun control.

Maybe we should consider the deterioration of our morals.

Many of us keep asking why.

We might forget that many children have lost their right to live without a fight.

Our society continues to witness the raging of hate.

We have turned away from God's grace.

We tolerate acceptable poverty.

Metal illness is another query.

But why? Why can't we take care of the poor and the sick?

Our selfishness and self-serving attitude have made our minds so thick.

Our spirit is dead.

Now death hangs around our heads.

Many voices of reasoning have also been berated.

We mourn and grieve because evil has been elevated.

Revelation 21: 4

"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

Lamentation 3: 32

"Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love."
