May 23rd, 2022: Tomorrow Might Not Come

 

Proverbs 27: 1

 

"Do not boast about tomorrow,

For you do not know what a day may bring forth."

For many people, tomorrow might never come. Sometimes we forget to live today fully because we are distracted by our plans for tomorrow. How often do we tell ourselves that we will do something tomorrow although we know we can do it today?

I met people who have regrets because they failed to tell someone they love them and the opportunities never came. Tomorrow then becomes a myth.

When we say to one another that we see each other again tomorrow, it demands faith to say such a thing. Many years ago, I told a young student that I would help her with her application to university the next morning. She suffered from a brain aneurysm that night and passed away. My last conversation with her was in my mind often.

So be excited about having today with one another. Embrace today as if it is your last day on earth. Give all that we gave and can. Tomorrow will be a gift when God allows it to happen.
