May 10th, 2022: The Holy Spirit
We welcomed the rain this past weekend in many parts of our province.
It has been quite dry, and some farmers have prayed that God would intervene.
It is refreshing to walk in the rain in the early morning.
God reminds us that the Holy Spirit is the rain that cleanses our souls and grants us meaning.
Rain washes the way the air contaminants.
The Spirit of God cleanses us from the contaminants of life so we can remain to be God's servants.
Sometimes I sit by a river and listen to the power of water flowing downstream.
We can use it to produce electricity; it used to be just a dream.
God's Spirit is the source of power that brings about the transformation of our lives and many others'.
Its consistency and steadiness remind us of how He does bother.
Nothing can be more threatening than a forest fire coming close to a neighborhood.
It can erase a whole community where it once stood.
We can also see The Holy Spirit as fire.
It comes to eliminate ungodliness and sinful human desires.
We long for peace in this world as we listen to the news.
It seems impossible because we have gone away from God to create our own ways; honestly, I can name a few.
God wants us to experience the peace that will rest our hearts and restores our minds.
It is the Dove that comes and lands on our side.
"Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them; And then the LORD's wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit..."
(Deut. 11:16-17)
"On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them." By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified."
John 7: 37-39
"For our "God is a consuming fire." "
Hebrews 12: 29
"When you lie down among the sheepfolds, You are like the wings of a dove covered with silver,And its pinions with glistening gold"
Psalm 68: 13
