April 22nd, 2022: Callous Heart

When our hearts are callous, we find it hard to listen to God.

There is a sense of numbness, and we have no idea how much we forgot.

We feel empty in our inner being as God seems so far away.

Ask ourselves whether God knows what has kept us at bay.

We try to pray, and yet our hearts are troubled.

Losing touch with God's forgiveness is our struggle.

The restlessness of our hearts tells us that something is not right.

We hate its darkness. Yet, we are afraid of the light.

Try to distract ourselves by attempting to blame others.

By doing so, we feel our joy withers.

We know that God stands by the door of our heart and knock.

Are we ready to receive Him? So we can have the prison of our spiritual desert unlocked.

Our souls can rest knowing His forgiveness helps us regain our freedom.

Our inner being is now in touch with what used to be seldom.

"But because of your callous stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are [deliberately] storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed."
