April 14th: Maundy Thursday
Today is Maundy Thursday of the Holy Week.
It is about the new commandment Jesus gives us (John 13: 34) - Mandatum novum do vobis.
It tells us to love one another as God loves us.
There is nothing more precious than knowing whom we trust.
The world might know that we are His disciples.
Serving one another is our core principle.
Jesus showed us an example during the last supper feast.
He got off the dinner table and washed His disciples' feet.
What does it mean for us to wash each other's feet?
Say no to ourselves so others might have their needs.
Walk away from our self-preoccupation to care for those who suffer.
We then discover the meaning of being together.
Learn to reach out to those who are helpless.
So we may gain strength to deal with our hidden mess.
We gain new freedom by giving before being asked.
God reveals to us the needed strength to undo our masks.
We gain new perspectives of God's presence in the world.
He is among the least and the most whirled.
(Matthew 26:14-39; Luke 22:24-27; John 13:1-17)
